Umesh Narain Gupta is Senior Partner of Basilica Law Firm. Mr. Gupta has over 40 years of experience as lawyer. He has gained extensive experience in corporate commercial disputes, arbitration matters and specializes in litigation and dispute resolution in areas such as generation and distribution of electricity, insolvency, administrative etc. His experience also encompasses regulatory, policy and tender matters.

He is retired as the Director-legal affairs from the erstwhile Rajasthan State Electricity Board (RSEB) which is now debundelled into 5 companies, namely AVVNL, JVVNL, JodhpurVVNL, RRVUNL and RRVPNL; and has since worked as legal advisor to many organizations like Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission, Adani Group, Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (RVPNL), JSW Energy. He has handled more than 22000 litigations in his exceptionally illustrious career.

He is a qualified engineer pursued B.E.(HONS) from BITS, Pilani; in law pursued LLB from DAV College, Rajasthan University and secured gold medal. Mr. Gupta was honoured by Rajasthan State Government for outstanding work in the field of law and reducing litigation in 2007.
